What's Behind that Door?

Behind this door, located inside the National WCTU Administration Building is where the National WCTU, Department of Scientific Temperance Instruction did experiments to learn the effects of beverage alcohol.

A peek inside the room gives us a view of the hard work that took place so that students would have accurate scientific temperance instruction in school. The WCTU was the driving force to make Health Education courses mandated in every state.

Miss Helen Allen, a WCTU narcotic education consultant stated :

"Every child in a democracy has a right to be taught the effects of alcohol, other narcotics and tobacco by a trained, informed, understanding teacher who is not pressured by a multi-billion dollar traffic."
