Saturday, October 26, 2024, individuals will have the opportunity to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs at locations in communities throughout the country in a safe and convenient way.
Mark your calendars! Clean out your medicine cabinet! This event happens twice a year, it is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of medications. This is important because most people who misuse prescription drugs get them from family, friends, and acquaintances. You can make a difference by keeping track of the medicine you have, by rethinking where and how you keep your medications in your home, and by safely disposing of any unused medications.
April 2024, Drug Take Back Day brought in 670,136lbs. (335 tons) of medications. Since 2010, DEA has collected more that 18.5 million pounds (9.285 tons) of medication.
